REVIEWS FROM YELP Sunday Nights at The Locust bar.DJ Lars' karaoke song selection was very extensive and had all of my favorite karaoke songs.. I signed up for a couple songs and waited for my turn. The karaoke crowd was extremely lively. Everyone sang along to the chorus of each song and clapped at the end of the performance. These were karaoke diehards with manners. These people were "professional" karaoke singers.
And it seemed, almost everyone
somehow knew each other
from the Philly karaoke circuit or from the Locust Bar itself. And well, any good dive bar has

This will be a short one, because even though it has been three
days since my first time experiencing Ray's Happy Birthday.I'm still at a loss for words to describe its awesomeness.
Even though I had heard a lot about this place-- the cheap drinks, the amazing(ly extensive) karaoke list,the crowd-- it was not what I expected....in a really, really good way. It's the bar I had been looking for, actually, and that's why I'm still stunned.

Its time that I challenged my karaoke "skills" against
some better competitionand at Ray's they definitely
have some top flight folks that show up. Karaoke
was going on all night and I was able to get in a Hall
and Oates song (Maneater) and my requisite MJ song.
